Animal activists in Britain have found a new target:
They are protesting on behalf of lab rats
Whilst I’m in favour of animal rights for those of us at the top of the food chain, lesser breeds such as rats, mice, rabbits and guinea pigs should be happy to assist scientific advance through noble self sacrifice after a well fed life as an experimental animal.
How can scientists research possible cures for human illnesses without suitable experimental subjects? Do these protesters offer any alternatives ?
I have two suggestions to help drug companies and governments overcome this problem:
A) Call for volunteers. Animal rights activists could take the place of a rat or rabbit. Or B) Use human ferals.
In each case appropriate compensation could be offered. Cash in category A) and a reduced sentence in B).
